““it is a serious thing

just to be alive

on this fresh morning

in this broken world.”

”
— From Invitation by Mary Oliver

The season of Advent offers an invitation to pause, to recenter our scattered senses, and listen for and welcome Love amidst the darkness of our own lives and our weary world.  Our time together in this mini-retreat invites us to say “yes” to the generosity of Love and live into Advent grounded in hope, bringing light in the darkness.

Our time together will include Visio Divina (using images for meditation and sacred listening), poetry, music, time for quiet reflection, and playing with blackout poetry.

Materials needed:

  • One torn out page of printed text from a magazine, an old book, or newspaper

  • A pencil

  • A black, wide tip Sharpie or permanent marker

  • Journal

*all are welcome to join as we enter this holy season together*

When: wednesday, december 2, 6:30pM-8:30PM (PT)

Where:  ON zoom

Cost: suggested sliding scale donation $20 - $50
