Poetry & Prayer
Join us for this free offering!
Friday, April 10, 2026, 10am-11am PT on Zoom
With Colette Lafia
Drawing from her new book, Leaving the Shore: Experiencing Poetry As Prayer, spiritual director Colette Lafia invites us to explore how praying with poetry can help us to:
~ Recognize the sacred in the small details of everyday life;
~ Create holy spaciousness around our experiences rather than rushing past them;
~ Slow down and make room for God’s presence in what we notice and how we respond.
There will be short readings from Leaving the Shore, a simple lectio-style way of praying with a poem, quiet pauses for deep listening, along with time for Q & A. Together, we will listen deeply, pray with poetry, and connect with our lives as a creative expression of the Divine.
