"The importance of art lies not in the final product, but in how the act of creation can empower and transform, allowing the opportunity to gain greater awareness about inner and outer life."

Carol Mathew-Rogers is the Art Director for our Spirit in the Arts program. Active as an artist and facilitator in a variety of arts programs over the years, she is a compassionate and creative artist, poet, writer, art teacher, and workshop facilitator dedicated to supporting the spiritual and emotional wholeness of program participants. Carol is interested in how the process of creation allows people to move from static positions bringing fresh energy into their lives toward personal transformation. Because she believes that everyone has the innate ability to visualize and influence their own healing through simple art projects, her workshops are designed to facilitate self-awareness. For her, the importance of art lies in how the act of creation can empower and transform the artist as the individual gains awareness about their life and their world.
Her educational background includes a Bachelors Degree in Applied Behavioral Science (UC Davis), with an emphasis on counseling and psychology, and a Masters Degree in Arts and Consciousness (John F. Kennedy University), with an emphasis in Transformative Art. She creates three-dimensional found-objects sculptures for her own creative expression. Her artwork reflects her personal journey into awareness and wholeness.
Carol recruits and supervises other facilitators as interest, opportunity and need arise.
